2: Failte! Welcome to Dublin’s Fair
Arrive at Dublin airport where you will transfer
on your own to The King Sitric for a 2-night stay. This warm hotel
stands proudly on the harbor of this buzzing village, and has become
a Mecca for seafood lovers from near and far. After some rest perhaps
make the short journey into Dublin and visit St. Patrick’s
Cathedral, Dublin’s oldest Christian site, dating back to
the time of St. Patrick. See the Book of Kells in Trinity College.
Enjoy dinner at The King Sitric this evening, perhaps followed by
a few pints of ‘the black stuff’ in Dublin this evening.

3: The Pulse of Ireland
Discover more of Dublin today. Go to Smithfield
and visit the Old Jameson Distillery, where you will see the birthplace
of some of Ireland’s finest. You may decide to have lunch
in Smithfield or perhaps in Temple Bar. Later stroll through St.
Stephens Green, the finest Georgian Square in Europe. Do some shopping
on fashionable Grafton Street or in the Powerscourt Townhouse. Perhaps
go to The Abbey Tavern this evening and enjoy the Craic at this
long-established Irish pub as the world-famous ‘Abbey Tavern
Musicians and Singers’ entertain you. You will be treated
to an array of Irish songs as you dine on excellent pub food and
wash it down with your choice from The Abbey Tavern’s extensive
bar!

Day 4: Kilkenny
and Waterford Crystal
After shaking the cobwebs from last night away meet
your driver/guide or pick up your car and begin your tour of Ireland
by driving to Kilkenny, the home of Smithwicks and Kilkenny Beer.
Visit the dominating sight of Kilkenny Castle. Situated on the River
Nore, this intimidating castle dates back to 1192, and carries with
it a great deal of interesting history. Across the street from the
Castle is Kilkenny Design Center. Originally the coach house and
stables for Kilkenny Castle, this building is now home to some of
the best designers and craftspeople in Ireland. Drive south to Waterford
and The Waterford Crystal Factory where you can see the intricate
processes involved in the production of the world famous crystal.
Continue to Youghal and Aherne’s Seafood Bar for a 1-night
stay. This family owned and run hotel is located in the lively seaside
town of Youghal. The hotel has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere,
and of course home to a very popular bar. Dine in the hotel this
evening, followed by a couple of drinks in the hotel then explore
the nightlife of Youghal.

5: The Gift of The Gab and The Gourmet Capital
Depart Youghal this morning and drive to Blarney
and visit Blarney Castle, where a kiss of the Blarney Stone is said
to impart eloquence. Perhaps do some shopping at the Blarney Woolen
Mills, where you will find everything from clothing to crystal,
all Irish-made. Drive south to Kinsale, known as the ‘gourmet
capital’ of Ireland. Enjoy lunch in this seaside town followed
by a walk along the beach. Get ready for the next stage of you journey
by driving through incredibly scenic west Cork into Co. Kerry. Drive
to Dingle and Doyle’s of Dingle for a 2-night stay. This wonderful
townhouse is located in the heart of the town. Internationally renowned
for it’s fantastic seafood, Doyle’s also has a pub downstairs,
where you can retire after your meal and enjoy a drink or two with
the locals. Enjoy an excellent dinner in the hotel this evening.

Day 6: The
Dingle Peninsula
Explore the ruggedly majestic Dingle Peninsula today;
see some of the most breath-taking views in Ireland at Slea Head
and Connor Pass. Perhaps learn some Irish to take home with you
in this area that has remained a gaeltacht (Irish-speaking region).
Return to Dingle and perhaps enjoy a boat ride in Dingle Harbor.
If you are lucky you may see Funghi the dolphin who has been a resident
of the harbor for over 15 years. This evening perhaps dine in the
hotel then visit one of the many live music pubs Dingle has, playing
live music every night.

Day 7: Killarney
Town & The Picturesque Village
After breakfast drive into Co. Kerry and spend some
time in and around Killarney Town. Enjoy the scenic drive through
the Killarney National Park and see the Lakes of Killarney. See
Muckross House and Gardens and take a horse and jaunt ride through
the Killarney National Park. Absorb some more of Ireland’s
unparalleled scenery from Gap of Dunloe. Perhaps have an Irish coffee
at Kate Kearney’s Cottage, named for a local who ran a speakeasy
on the property. Continue north into County Limerick and the picturesque
village of Adare, where you can still see houses with thatched roofs.
Continue to Adare Manor for a 1-night stay. An opulent castle-like
luxury resort built in 1832, which offers a variety of facilities
and activities, including an equestrian center, championship golf
course, and leisure center. Enjoy dinner in the hotel this evening,
followed by drinks in Adare’s downstairs bar, The Tack Room,
where the manor’s resident musician plays piano and sings
until the earlier hours of the morning!
